What is the difference between a retainer and a subscription?
When you sign up for a retainer with an agency you're buying a certain number of hours in exchange for work. A retainer modal can incur added costs once those allocated hours are reached. However, on a subscription, you pay a fixed monthly fee for an unlimited amount of tasks that are completed and delivered to you one by one.
Is there a limit to how many requests I can have?
Once subscribed, you're able to add as many marketing tasks to your job queue as you'd like, and they will be delivered one by one.
Why wouldn't I just hire a full-time marketer?

Good question! We are for businesses who aren't at that point yet or who are looking for someone to help cover a job role until someone is hired.

In Australia, the annual cost of a full-time Marketing Assistant or Marketing Officer ranges from $65,000 - $80,000 and Marketing Managers average $110,000, plus super, sick leave and holiday pay.


At our current plan pricing (1 October 2024), on 'Startup', you can sign up for 12 months and only spend $30,000 to have your marketing activities in full swing. Aside from that, we understand that your marketing campaigns can be seasonal, with a monthly plan, you can pause, resume and scale up your subscription as often as you need or as you grow.

Our goal is to plug your marketing gaps. We are here incase of a sudden marketing professional departure, supporting your existing team or being the first marketer that your business hires.

How fast will I receive the requested work?
On average, most requests are completed in one to three business days or less. However, more complex requests, like projects or events will take longer.
How do I request work to be completed?
Phillipjane offers countless ways of how you can request marketing tasks using Trello.

Some common ways clients request tasks are directly via Trello, sharing Google Docs or uploading a video brief into their own designated client Google Drive folder. If it can be linked to or shared in Trello, it's fair game.

For bigger projects, a 30-minute briefing call is another way to get your brief to us.
How does the pause feature work?
We understand you may not have enough marketing tasks to fill up an entire month. Perhaps you only have one or two tasks at the moment. That's where pausing your subscription comes in handy.


Billing cycles are based on a 31 day period. Let's say you sign up and use the service for 21 days, and then decide to pause your subscription. This means that the billing cycle will be paused once your current request has been delivered and you'll have 10 days of service remaining to be used anytime in the future.
What if I'm not happy with the work you have created?
No worries! We'll continue to revise and work on your task until you're 100% satisfied.
Is there any marketing and design work you don't cover?
Absolutely. phillipjane does not cover the following marketing and design work:

Attending or managing your marketing events, telemarketing, brand strategy (for now), 3D modelling, animated graphics (GIFS, etc.), document design (medical forms, etc.), packaging, and extensive print design (magazines, books, etc.).
